By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Reigning champions Survivors FC secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Hattieville United Youth Sporting Club in the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) First Division 2024-2025 Closing Championship on Labour Day at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City.


Survivors took an early lead when Devon Augustine found the net in the 15th minute. Carlos Lopez then doubled the advantage, putting Survivors in control of the match.
Hattieville fought back, and in a moment of brilliance, Keithon Dyer struck a stunning free kick from 30 yards out, pulling one back for his team. Despite their efforts, Hattieville couldn’t find the equalizer, and Survivors held on for the win.
In the other matches, Caesar Ridge and Tut Bay played to a 2-2 draw, while Kelly Street Bombers defeated Old Road Defenders 4-2.
Labour Day football at Marion Jones Sports Complex featured intense competition, setting the stage for more exciting encounters in the BDFA First Division Championship.
