Kayla Mitchell scored a game-high 21 points, Aliyah Boston and Nathasha Howard both recorded double-doubles, and the Indiana Fever beat the Las Vegas Aces 80-70 on Thursday with Caitlin Clark watching from the bench.
Clark missed her third consecutive game due to a groin injury, and the team said earlier Thursday that there was no definitive timetable for her return to the court.
With Clark out, the Fever’s offence ran through Mitchell, who added four assists to her 21 points but was 8 of 24 shooting from the field.
Howard finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Boston had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Indiana (13-12) trailed by six at half-time but won the third quarter 27-15 to fuel the home victory.
A’ja Wilson led the Aces (12-12) with 20 points and six rebounds, while Jackie Young scored an efficient 19 points.
Las Vegas struggled with the 3-point shot, going 2 for 15 (13.3%) from deep. The Fever connected on 11 of their 23 (47.8%) 3-point attempts.
Plum’s 30 lift streaking Sparks over Sun
Kelsey Plum scored an efficient 30 points, Dearica Hamby had 20 points and 11 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Sparks handled the Connecticut Sun 101-86.
Plum, who also dished out six assists, shot 10 of 15 from the floor and was 4 for 7 from 3-point range as the Sparks (10-14) won their fourth straight game.
Hamby dominated the paint for Los Angeles and was 8 for 9 from the field, with her only miss coming on a 3-pointer.
Azura Stevens added 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots.
Tina Charles had 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Sun (3-20), who lost their fourth straight.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 17 points for Connecticut, and Bria Hartley had 16.
Charles, Nelson-Ododa and Hartley combined to shoot 22 for 39 (56.4%) from the floor, while the rest of the Sun were just 7 of 37 (18.9%).
Diggins, Storm rout Sky
Skyler Diggins scored a game-high 21 points to go with seven rebounds, and the Seattle Storm ran past the Chicago Sky 95-57.
Diggins was 7 of 14 from the field and 3 for 6 from 3-point range to pace Seattle (15-10), who bounced back from Tuesday’s surprising loss to the Dallas Wings.
Seattle rookie Dominique Malonga recorded the first double-double of her career, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Erica Wheeler made a trio of 3-pointers to finish with 13 points.
The Sky played without All-Star forward Angel Reese due to a back injury and continue to play without starting guard Courtney Vandersloot (knee).
Kamilla Cardoso had 13 points and 13 rebounds before she fouled out, and Rachel Banham also scored 13 for Chicago (7-17).
