Iyanola Heritage are out front after the first week of action in the 2025 Dream 11 Saint Lucia T10 Blast, with three wins, one loss, and one no-result from five matches. Behind them are Piton Stickers and Bamboo Blasters, each with three wins and two losses.
Heritage defeated Stickers by five wickets in a low-scoring encounter on Monday at the Gros Islet Playing Field. Stickers made 92-6 from their 10 overs, with Christian Charlery scoring 37 from 16 balls. Xavier Gabriel starred with the ball for the Heritage, taking 3-11 from his two overs. Jamal Lesmond was wicketless, but also conceded only 11 runs from his 12 balls.
Johnson Charles responded with six sixes in a rapid-fire 38 off 15 balls to guide the Heritage to 95-5. Kensley Paul and Vernillius Gabriel each hit 13.
Smashers beat Blasters
Bamboo Blasters fell to their second straight loss after three wins to open the competition, losing by four runs to Whiptail Smashers in a tense finish. Thanks to a swashbuckling 50 off 20 balls by Jard Goodman, Smashers got to 137-4, despite getting just 16 from star player Kimani Melius. Tyrel Chicot added 30 from 16, coming in at the fall of the second wicket.
Boasting the tournament’s top two run-scorers, Blasters got off to a solid start in the chase. They were 34 without loss after the first three overs. But the fourth over from Jeandell Cyril yielded just two runs. The fifth from Shawnil Edward offered just four, including a leg bye.
Noelle Leo got the Blasters back on terms with 22 runs, including three sixes off Lee John in the sixth over. Stephen Naitram hit Tyrel Chicot for two fours, then Leo smashed him for two sixes and a four to leave the Blasters needing 51 runs from three overs.
Naitram was out for 38 in the eighth over, but Leo also stroked two more sixes. He added another six in the ninth over, but finally fell for 75 on the penultimate ball of the innings. Leo smashed 10 sixes and added two fours. Along with Naitram, he tops the runs table with 211 runs.
On Tuesday, the Heritage will go up against Bamboo Blasters, preceded by bottom-of-the-table Calabash Giants, hunting their first win against Amazonian Warriors.
