The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) yesterday announced a Jamaican contingent to the World Athletics Relays, scheduled from May 2–3 in Gaborone, Botswana.
Leading the men’s team is World Athletics Championships 100m gold and silver medallists Oblique Seville and Kishane Thompson. The squad is further strengthened by Antonio Watson, Ackeem Blake, Rohan Watson, and Kadrian Goldson.
On the women’s side, the team includes 100m World Championship silver medallist Tina Clayton, double Olympic gold medallist Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shericka Jackson, Tia Clayton, Jonielle Smith, and Brianna Williams.
Jamaica will compete across multiple relay events, including:

The team is scheduled to depart Jamaica on April 27 and will return on May 4.
This year’s World Athletics Relays will provide an opportunity for teams to fine-tune combinations, build chemistry, and secure qualification for upcoming global championships.
Jamaica, a traditional powerhouse in relay events, is expected to deliver strong performances and contend for top honours.
A release from the organisation said: “The JAAA extends best wishes to all athletes, coaches, and support staff as they represent the nation with pride on the international stage.”
The team will be chaperoned by team leader Judith Ewart and Dr Warren Blake, who will act as her assistant and safeguarding officer, while Maurice Wilson will take up his customary role as technical leader.
Also in the delegation will be coaches Mark Elliott, Paul Francis, and Reynaldo Walott.
The team doctor will be Dr Marsha James, who will have Pier-Ann Brown on the physiotherapist table.
