Been a while since Iâve posted something personal here. Instagram (well social media) was always something I enjoyed doing.. until it wasnât. It got pretty heavy at times with scrutiny & negativity & became more of a place that was quite triggering for me, whilst just trying to be the best athlete, netballer & person I could be. Anywho, I have a much better relationship with it now & have been able to see the positives it can have on us when we choose to engage with it in a way that empowers us rather than beats us down.
So Iâm choosing to share a little personal part of me with you today because since finding out I am pregnant and expecting my first child (anytime now!) I have had a lot of love and support from family, team mates, club&country & many more & I want to say thank you; the messages Iâve had, the support Iâve received from mums, mums to be, dads, dads to be & so many more has just been incredible. Itâs been challenging at times not being out on court this year, itâs all Iâve ever known & loved, but this pregnancy journey has allowed me to explore other parts of myself â both on&off the court, whether that be taking my fellow WAs under my wing & wanting to share my knowledge with them & watch them shineâĻ to meeting SOO many Netballers out there who love the game through my Natballers coaching (& thatâs only 2 examples). I feel very grateful & have been reflecting tonight on what life has always been like & how it is going to change so much so very soon â in the best way!
I have a really big aim to get back into Netball once baby girl arrives & I want to bring the people Iâve met across this past 9months (as well as those who have always been there) on the journey with me â because you have been so inspiring, the stories youâve shared, the advice youâve offered. So just keep watching this spaceâĻ
& lastly to baby girl, I cannot wait to meet you. Everyone tells me life will change for the better with you in it & I cannot wait to experience that with you. I cannot wait for our first cuddle, our first meeting.. our first everything. I cannot wait to be your mummy đĨš
