Nominations Now Open For 2025 Track & Field Academic Awards ::: USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – The nomination period for USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards for the 2025 track & field season is NOW OPEN!

Nominations for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual & Team Awards will be accepted until Monday, July 14 at 11:59 pm CT.

NCAA DIVISION I

INDIVIDUALS

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria:

  1. Cumulative GPA: 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period,
    certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar’s
    Office.
    a. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale
    using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  2. Athletic criteria for the award can be met in either the indoor season, the outdoor
    season, or both:
    a. For the indoor season: must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any
    championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event,
    for the most recent indoor season, certifiable by their place on final season
    performance lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field (including performances
    achieved outside the qualifying window during the indoor season).
    b. For the outdoor season: must have participated in any round of the NCAA
    Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary
    Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition) or must
    have finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or top 48 in the West
    for the most recent outdoor season, certifiable by place on the NCAA Division I
    descending order list on TFRRS for Outdoor Track and Field.
  3. Must have completed at least two (2) semesters or three (3) quarters at the certifying
    institution.

TEAMS

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria:

  1. The cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for
    Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including
    the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA
    Compliance Coordinator or Registrar’s Office.
  2. The cumulative GPA of all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for
    Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be computed by the following method:
    a. Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all
    student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List including the most recent grading
    period;
    b. Total the cumulative number of quality points earned by all student-athletes
    including the most recent grading period;
    c. Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number
    of semester or quarter hours earned.
  3. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 then must convert the GPA to a 4.0
    scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].

NCAA DIVISION II

INDIVIDUALS

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria:

  1. Minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale through the end of the
    semester of competition. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the
    GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]. Data must
    be certifiable by the institution’s registrar.
  2. Must have been academically eligible at the National Championships in the respective
    season that his or her athletic mark was achieved in.
  3. Must have finished the season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending
    order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who
    participated at the Indoor OR Outdoor National Championships, are eligible.
  4. Must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the
    descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay
    teams, but who participated in the relay at the Indoor OR Outdoor National
    Championships, are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded
    descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible.
  5. Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include only grades earned at the
    current nominating institution.

TEAMS

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria:

  1. The cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for
    Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, certifiable
    by the institution’s registrar. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the
    GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  2. The cumulative GPA of all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for
    Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be computed by the following method:
    a. Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all
    student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List including the most recent grading
    period;
    b. Total the cumulative number of quality points (GPA multiplied by the number of
    credit hours) earned by all student-athletes including the most recent grading
    period;
    c. Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number
    of semester or quarter hours earned.
  3. Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include only grades earned at the
    current nominating institution.

NCAA DIVISION III

INDIVIDUALS

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria:

  1. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale through the most
    recently completed grading period. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must
    convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
    Data must be certifiable by the institution’s registrar.
  2. Meet one of the following athletic criteria:
    a. Must have finished the season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the
    descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50,
    but who participated at the Indoor OR Outdoor National Championships, are
    eligible.
    b. Must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on
    the descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top
    35 relay teams, but who participated in the relay at the Indoor OR Outdoor
    National Championships, are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member
    on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per
    institution) is eligible.
  3. Graduate students must take all undergraduate plus graduate coursework into account.

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria:

  1. Cumulative team GPA of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at
    least a 3.10 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter, computed by the
    following method:
    a. Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all
    student-athletes who used a season of eligibility, including the most recent
    grading period;
    b. Total the cumulative number of quality points (GPA multiplied by the number of
    credit hours) earned by all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility,
    including the most recent grading period;
    c. Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number
    of semester or quarter hours earned.
    d. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 then must convert the GPA to
    a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]. Data must
    be certifiable by the institution’s registrar.
  2. Graduate students must take all undergraduate plus graduate coursework into account.

NAIA

INDIVIDUALS

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria:

  1. Cumulative GPA: 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading
    period, certifiable by either Faculty Rep or Compliance Coordinator or Registrar’s
    Office.
    a. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale
    using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  2. Athletic criteria for the award can be met in either the indoor season, the outdoor
    season, or both:
    i. For the indoor season: must have achieved an “A” or “B” standard in a
    Championship event, certifiable by their place on the NAIA descending order
    lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field.
    ii. For the outdoor season: must have achieved an “A” or “B” standard in a
    Championship event, certifiable by their place on the NAIA descending order
    lists on TFRRS for Outdoor Track and Field.
  3. Must have completed at least two (2) semesters or three (3) quarters at the certifying
    institution.

TEAMS

  1. The cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution’s eligibility certificate for
    Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including
    the most recent grading period, certifiable by either Faculty Rep or Compliance
    Coordinator or Registrar’s Office
  2. The cumulative GPA of all student-athletes on the institution’s eligibility certificate for
    Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be computed by the following method:
    a. Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all
    student-athletes on the eligibility certificate including the most recent grading
    period;
    b. Total the cumulative number of quality points earned by all student-athletes,
    including the most recent grading period;
    c. Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number
    of semester or quarter hours earned.
    d. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 then must convert the GPA to
    a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].

NJCAA

INDIVIDUALS

Awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria:

  1. 3.40 GPA or higher for academic term of participation (track and field – spring).
  2. Student-athlete must be considered full-time (12 hours or more) unless a special
    exemption exists from the NJCAA.
  3. Must be listed on either Regional or National roster.
    TEAMS
  4. Minimum 3.20 GPA for academic term of participation (track and field – spring).
  5. Students must be considered full-time (12 hours or more) unless a special exemption
    exists from the NJCAA.
  6. For team ranking and qualification, must have minimum ten (10) athletes for a track and
    field roster, and all athletes must be listed on either Regional or National Roster.
  7. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 then must convert the GPA to a 4.0
    scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
    a. Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all
    student-athletes on the eligibility certificate including the most recent grading
    period;
    b. Total the cumulative number of quality points earned by all student-athletes,
    including the most recent grading period;
    c. Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number
    of semester or quarter hours earned.
    d. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 then must convert the GPA to
    a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  8. Remedial classes do not figure into GPA.
