Oleksandr Usyk has no immediate plans to get back in the ring, but when he does return, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are among his potential opponents.
Usyk swatted aside Daniel Dubois in Saturday’s rematch at Wembley Stadium, claiming a knockout win in the fifth round.
Dubois was dropped by a brutal right hook to the temple, and though he beat the count, Usyk closed out a stunning victory with a clinical strike to the chin.
Usyk is now the two-time undisputed heavyweight champion. In the past five years, the Ukrainian has beaten Dubois twice, Joshua twice, Fury twice and Derek Chisora once.
The latter three are all possible opponents for his next bout, but for now, the 38-year-old wants to take a break.
“Nothing is next. It’s enough, next, I don’t know. I want to rest,” he told DAZN.
“My family, my wife, my children, I want to rest now. Two or three months, I want to just rest.
“Maybe it’s Tyson Fury. Maybe we have three choices, Derek Chisora and Anthony Joshua. Maybe Joseph Parker. Listen, I cannot now say because I want to go back home.”
Dubois, meanwhile, took his defeat with grace.
“I have to commend him on the performance, I gave everything I had,” he said.
“Take no credit away from that man, I’ll be back.
“I was just fighting, trying to pick up round by round. It is what it is.”
