WAYNE ROONEY was brutal in his assessment of Ruben Amorim’s tenure at Manchester United, and said he had ‘no faith’ in his ability to turn it around.
The Red Devils suffered their third loss of the season over the weekend in a 3-1 defeat away at Brentford, leaving them languishing in 14th in the table.
The pressure is piling on the Portuguese, with Jim Ratcliffe understood to have drawn up a list of potential replacements including three current Premier League managers.
And now Rooney has further piled on the pressure through comments made on his BBC podcast The Wayne Rooney Show.
He said: “It’s just not good enough, from the manager, the coaches, the players, and I don’t know what’s going on.
“[Amorim] is still a young manager, I am sure he has got a massive future, but what is going on at Man Utd… this is not Man Utd.

“I honestly hope he can turn it round and he does. But after everything I’ve seen, honestly, I’ve got no faith in it.”
The poor start to the season came after an abysmal campaign last year following Amorim’s takeover from Erik ten Hag in November last year.
The Red Devils finished 15th in the table and fell to a Europa League final defeat to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham side in Bilbao.
The board backed him with a huge summer spending spree that saw over £200million spent on attackers alone, including Premier League stars Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha and Slovenian star Benjamin Sesko.

But results have not improved this season, summed up by their embarrassing Carabao Cup exit to League Two side Grimsby Town last month.
Rooney continued: “I don’t recognise the whole football club. I don’t see players fighting, I don’t see character, I don’t see desire to win, I don’t see ability, I don’t see match winners.
“Nothing gets me off my feet. I go into a game watching expecting to lose or maybe pick up a point. This is not Man Utd.
“This is not all on the manager, I am seeing players not deserving to wear that shirt, and it hurts, when you have been at a football club for that long and you care for the club.
“I think there needs to be a clear message from the owners of where this club is going, because at the minute we’re all sitting here waiting for it to crumble.
United host high-flying Sunderland this weekend, before a trip to league-leaders Liverpool after the international break.
