South Carolina’s JaMeesia Ford, the 200 winner in ’25, and runner-up finisher in the 100 & 4×1, leads both sprint lists. (ERROL ANDERSON/THE SPORTING IMAGE)
AS HAS BEEN the case for 11 of the last 15 editions of the NCAA Outdoor Champs, Eugene (June 10–13) will host this year’s collegiate crown jewel meet. Here’s an advance peek at who the major players should be as we list for you the top 10 eligibles by event, in order of their PRs.
Marks are as of February 04. Only wind-legal marks are included. The column on the right is the athlete’s finish in the ’25 NCAA Outdoor Championships. If she didn’t compete in that meet (which includes the rounds held at the Regionals), then the Indoor Champs or XC finish is given. A slash followed by another number/letter indicates competition in a different event.
Seven reigning individual champions should be back for another go: JaMeesia Ford (South Carolina) 200, Doris Lemngole (Alabama) steeple & 5000, Pamela Kosgei (New Mexico) 10,000, Aaliyah McCormick (Oregon) 100H, Hana Moll (Washington) PV, Winny Bii (Texas A&M) TJ, Valentina Barrios (Missouri) JT.
Symbols: h = heat; qf = quarterfinal; sf = semi; fs = false start; dnf = did not finish; dnc = didn’t compete at Nationals/Regionals; dnq = didn’t advance from Regionals field-event qualifying; (A) = altitude-aided mark (over 1000m); ‘ = not eligible for Team USA. Eligibility classes (outdoors): *** = frosh; ** = soph; * = juniors; all others are seniors.
