2026 Suncorp Super Netball Pre-Season

In this thread, we’ll be keeping you up to date with all the pre-season matches taking place ahead of the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season. We’ll provide information on matches coming up, including when and where the games are on, lineups, and live-streams, if any. We will add more information to this thread as we go, including results and some comments on players and combinations to watch as teams prepare for the season ahead.

Lightning and Mavericks attended the recent Australian Diamonds training camp and took each other on in a practice match. There are no more details than that, but now we start with the more formal pre-season games. First up, it’s GIANTS Netball hosting the Queensland Firebirds.

These matches are taking place in the Riverina area of NSW. Giants have four new players in their 10-player squad for 2026 – Casey Adamson, Lucy Austin, Jane Watson, and new captain Whitney Souness. Meanwhile, there will be much interest in the Firebirds’ three recruits – Maddy Gordon, Kelly Jackson, and Te Paea Selby-Rickit. Imogen Allison is missing from the Firebirds squad for the weekend, having suffered an injury while training with the England team in South Africa. Both teams are taking several training partners and academy members with them to bolster their lineups with high temperatures expected over the weekend.
