What Fans Should Know
The SSN signing window has officially opened!
Teams have two weeks within which to sign their full 2026 contracted team of ten.
Other important information:
- Due to the end of the current broadcast deal, athletes can only be signed on one year contracts.
- Training partners and nominated athletes can be signed after the official signing window has closed.
- 11th players can also be named any time after the signing window closes right through to the early Rounds of the 2026 season.
Nominated athletes differ from training partners as the nominated athletes can be named as temporary replacement players for their nominated team. However, they can also be named as permanent replacement players for any Suncorp Super Netball team. Teams can name up to four nominated athletes, along with a number of additional training partners.
11th players MUST be contracted as a 2026 nominated athlete. Other criteria for 11th players include:
- They must be eligible to represent Australia in accordance with World Netball Regulations.
- And/or they have not represented another nation in any international event in the last four years.
- They must also be aged 26 or younger OR have not taken to the court in more than five SSN and/or ANZ Premiership matches.
