Best Dressed Chicken/ Everyone’s A Winner 3K & 5K Run/Walk to Provide Aid For Vision in 2025
With wellness, family, and community at its core, the upcoming 2025 staging of the Everyone’s A Winner (EAW) 3K & 5K Run/Walk was recently announced at the media launch hosted by Running Events Jamaica and their title sponsor, The Best Dressed Chicken. Slated for Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15, 2025, the upcoming event promises to be one of the most meaningful yet, with this year’s proceeds going toward eye surgeries (particularly cataract surgeries) for members of the Jamaica Society for the Blind (JSB).
Senator Floyd Morris, Senior Lecturer, Disability Advocate and Motivational Speaker, was also announced as this year’s race patron once again, while the Jamaica Social Stock Exchange (JSSE) has come on board as a key partner to help manage and expand the initiative’s impact.
Held annually since 2010 and proudly sponsored by The Best Dressed Chicken since 2012, the Everyone’s A Winner Run/Walk is a fixture on Jamaica’s race calendar. This year’s event will feature the traditional 3K and 5K distances with a special family-friendly focus—and a brand-new generational prize for the top-performing grandfather-father-son team.
“This event truly makes everyone a winner—from families celebrating wellness to Jamaicans regaining their sight,” said Arielle Oliver, Brand Manager, The Best Dressed Chicken. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Jamaica Society for the Blind on such life-changing work. When this year’s funds deliver essential eye surgeries, every Jamaican who gains independence becomes another victory we celebrate together. As a brand that believes in the power of community, we couldn’t be prouder to help make every finish line a new beginning.”

The JSB has expressed gratitude for the partnership, which will significantly boost the organisation’s efforts to provide medical assistance to the blind and visually impaired. According to the JSB, this year’s funds will serve a dual purpose—supporting much-needed cataract surgeries while also helping to cover medication and treatments that preserve vision and prevent further deterioration. The initiative aligns with the organisation’s mission and enables it to reach more individuals in urgent need of sight-saving support.
“This initiative means everything to us,” said Daemion McLean, Chairman of the Jamaica Society for the Blind. “The funds raised through this year’s Everyone’s A Winner Run/Walk will allow us to support Jamaicans living with visual impairments in two critical ways— by helping with medication and treatments, and by funding eye surgeries. Eye surgeries, in particular
Cataract surgeries are widely needed but financially out of reach for many, and this event allows us to change that. Through this race, with the help of The Best Dressed Chicken and the Jamaica Social Stock Exchange, we’re excited to touch more lives and provide the kind of life-changing assistance we’ve long hoped to offer.”
Longtime patron Senator Dr. Floyd Morris, who also attended the launch, spoke passionately about the importance of awareness and support for the blind and visually impaired community in Jamaica. “I am honoured to once again serve as Race Patron for this meaningful event, which continues to uplift and empower Jamaicans in powerful ways. As someone who personally experiences the challenges of visual impairment, I know the life-changing value of medical interventions. This partnership between The Best Dressed Chicken, the Jamaica Society for the Blind, and the Jamaica Social Stock Exchange is a shining example of what can be achieved when purpose-driven entities come together for the greater good. Events like the Everyone’s A Winner Run/Walk not only raise vital funds but also raise awareness and build community around a shared commitment to better health and quality of life for all Jamaicans.”

In a significant move to strengthen the impact of this year’s Everyone’s A Winner Run/Walk, The Jamaica Society for the Blind (JSB) has partnered with The Jamaica Social Stock Exchange (JSSE) to have the JSSE manage and monitor the funds raised through the event. Under a formal memorandum of understanding, the JSSE will oversee the contributions earmarked for life-changing cataract surgery, while also placing the JSB’s project on its public platform to attract additional support. This collaboration will ensure transparency, accountability, and increased opportunities for public engagement in the mission to restore sight and improve lives.
“The JSSE is proud to serve as the accountability partner for the Jamaica Society for the Blind as they undertake this crucial project,” said Nora Blake, Manager of the Jamaica Social Stock Exchange. “Through our platform, we will not only ensure that all donations raised from the Everyone’s A Winner Run/Walk are tracked and reported transparently, but we will also open the project to public participation. Our goal is to help maximise the potential for funding, so that beyond the monies raised at the event, others who are moved by the cause can contribute via the JSSE platform, as they will know in real time exactly how their support is being used to make a difference. Of critical importance also is our goal of ensuring, through the monitoring of the project, that there is maximum project impact.”
