By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Men’s National Team (BMNT) take on Mexican side Neza FC in an international friendly at FFB Stadium in Belmopan tonight, Thursday, May 29, at 7:00 pm.

The match serves as an essential test for Belize as they finalize preparations for their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Montserrat and Panama. According to the Football Federation of Belize (FFB), Neza FC will be reinforced by former Colombian national team players Jhon Fredy Miranda and Miguel Julio, adding valuable experience to their squad.
Belize come into this match after a 1-1 draw last week against Mexican exhibition team Club Deportivo Aragón. Head coach Daniel Bartolotta and his staff are using these warm-up matches to refine tactics and assess player form before heading to Trinidad and Tobago this weekend for the June 4 clash against Montserrat at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.
Following the Montserrat fixture, the BMNT will return to Belize to host Panama at FFB Stadium on Saturday, June 7.
Belize face a challenging path in the qualifiers, having suffered defeats in their opening matches against Nicaragua and Guyana last year. With Nicaragua and Panama leading the group with six points each, the BMNT are still in search of their first points, making these upcoming games even more crucial.
The FFB is calling on fans to attend tonight’s match against Neza FC, with tickets priced at $10. Supporters are encouraged to come out and rally behind the BMNT as they build momentum ahead of their World Cup qualifying campaign.
