RUSSELL MARTIN has vowed Rangers will go on the attack in Athens.
The Light Blues hold a precious two-goal advantage from last week’s Ibrox first leg.
But Martin has dismissed talk of protecting their lead against Panathinaikos as he bids to silence their fanatical fans early.
The Gers gaffer said: “At this football club you have to try to win every single game.
“I think that has to be the mentality of our team.
“I don’t believe in going into something trying to avoid something.

“We try to work towards something rather than work away from it.
“So we’ll work hard to try to win the game and we have to be very, very good to do that.
“I’m looking forward to it.”
Thelo Aasgaard and Hamza Igamane haven’t travelled to Greece and both are doubts ahead of Gers’ Premiership opener against Motherwell on Saturday.
The Ibrox boss hopes to have bolstered his squad by then, with Gers closing in on a season-long loan deal for Spurs wonderkid Mickey Moore.
Earlier in the day, Tottenham gaffer Thomas Frank confirmed the 17-year-old would be heading out on loan and last night Martin admitted: “I think I’ve said to you all the way along that as soon as it’s done you’ll be the first guys to know.
“There are lots of players we like, lots that we’re linked to.
“He’s a really good player and if at any point he becomes a Rangers player we will let you know.
“I think we still have a few areas we need to strengthen and put a bit more depth in, for sure.
“I think some areas are more obvious than others, but I think we’re still looking to add to the squad.
“I keep saying that we will add to the squad, but they have to be the right ones. Definitely in the right areas.
“We’ll wait and see on that one.”
Rangers are bidding to secure a place in the third qualifying round of the Champions League with either Servette or Viktoria Plzen lying in wait.
Martin confessed: “I think it would be huge for the club.
“It’s not about me.
“It’s about the club. It’s about the players, it’s about the team, the fans.
“So, take anything personally out of it, it would be brilliant for the football club if we win.
“It was a tough draw for us, for sure. And we have to make sure that’s the case.
“Once the game starts, it’s the same as any other game.
“The atmosphere last week was incredible.
“We have a chance to give the travelling fans – and they will travel in their numbers everywhere for this football club – we have a chance to give them a night to remember and have a night to remember ourselves.
“But, outside of that, I think once the game starts it doesn’t feel any different.

“You’re trying to work out what the problems might be, what the opposition are doing, what their mentality is, what their approach is, and trying to find solutions quickly for the players.
“I loved the other night and I hope we can have another really positive night tomorrow.”
