By Rubén Morales Iglesias: ⚽The second semi-final of the National Amateur Inter-District Championship (NAIC) kicks off at 7:30 pm tonight at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence, where Mid South’s Vikings FC play host to Orange Walk’s Yo Creek United.
Vikings advanced to the semi-finals by holding off a fierce second-leg surge from Sharks FC, who won 3–1 in San Pedro. Despite the loss, the Mid South outfit progressed with a slender 4–3 aggregate score, thanks in part to Daniel Cadle’s crucial away goal.
Their opponents, Yo Creek United, arrive with confidence and a fearsome attacking record. They dispatched Quinta’s Elite FC with a staggering 13–2 aggregate over both legs, scoring six times in San Ignacio following a 7–1 triumph at home. Forward Alex Alamilla netted a hat-trick, supported by goals from Edimir Carrillo, Liam Reyes, and Francisco Rivas.
With the return leg scheduled for Orange Walk next weekend, tonight’s clash is expected to test both sides tactically and physically. Vikings will need to resist Yo Creek’s offensive pressure while seeking opportunities of their own.
👉 Earlier Saturday, Tut Bay FC will take on Napoles FC at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City at 5:00 pm in the first semi-final leg.
