CELTIC are one of three SPFL clubs to have been hit with suspended ticket reductions by the governing body.
Aberdeen and Partick Thistle have also been slapped with punishments relating to pyrotechnics.
The SPFL have hammered the clubs after they were all ‘found to be in breach of SPFL rules following the behaviour of supporters.’
All the matches investigated happened towards the end of last season.
Celtic were found to have breached two SPFL rules (H36 and H37) during the Premiership clash with St Mirren on the final day of the season.
The Green Brigade, who sit in the North Curve section of Celtic Park, set off a large-scale pyrotechnics display at the match.
As a result, the SPFL have hit the Hoops with a SUSPENDED reduction of 200 tickets in the area of the stadium where the display took place for one home match.
It would be triggered if another breach relating to pyro use happens in that area of the stadium before June 30 next year.
Aberdeen have also been hit with a punishment after breaching the same two rules.
Dons fans set-off pyro before kick-off of their clash with Celtic on May 14, just three days before the Celtic v St Mirren clash that has led to the Hoops’ own punishment.
Sky Sports were forced to apologise live on-air after smoke affected the quality of the pictures being beamed into the homes of punters watching at home.
Aberdeen have been hit with the same sanction as Celtic which would also be triggered by a further breach before June 30 next year.
Partick Thistle’s censure comes with regards to TWO incidents during their play-off trip to Ayr United on Ayr 9.
Pyro was lit and chucked onto the pitch by away fans at Somerset Park, causing a delay to the match.
A further delay occurred later in the game after a pitch invasion following Brian Graham’s late winner.
The SPFL have come down hard on Thistle in relation to BOTH of those incidents.
SPFL rules H36 and H37
H36 The Home Club in any Official Match must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, H36.1 good order and security;
H36.2 that policies and procedures have been adopted and are implemented to prevent incidents of Unacceptable Conduct; and
H36.3 that any incidents of Unacceptable Conduct are effectively dealt with, all at its Stadium on the occasion of an Official Match
H37 Each Club must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that:
H37.1 its Players, officials, supporters and any person exercising a function for or connected with the Club do not engage in Unacceptable Conduct at a Stadium on the occasion of an Official Match;
H37.2 it identifies any of its supporters who engage in Unacceptable Conduct at an Official Match; and
H37.3 it takes proportionate disciplinary measures in respect of supporters so identified in terms of Rule H37.2.
The Jags have been hit with a suspended closure of an entire STAND, should a repeat use of pyro or pitch invasion happen, once again before June 30.
In a statement, the SPFL blasted: “These incidents caused a health and safety risk to fellow supporters, players and those working at matches; as well as a significant inconvenience to thousands of supporters at the matches and fans watching these games at home.”
They also said: “All three clubs have been found to have breached SPFL Rules in failing to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that their supporters did not engage in “unacceptable conduct” at those matches.”
