By Aaron Humes: In November 2022, the Mexico Sports Center was severely damaged during Hurricane Lisa, and has largely been neglected since.




But with the renewed drive to fix established sporting facilities countrywide including the nearby Marion Jones Stadium, Cabinet has approved the allocation of $750,000 for works on the facility, which was gifted to Belize by the Government of Mexico as a symbol of the enduring friendship between the two nations.
The funds will be used for the restoration of the roof and other works for the landmark multipurpose sporting facility, to immediately reinstate a high-standard venue to the national inventory.
