By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Capital Sport Club face Belmopan FC on Saturday night at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in the Capital. The match kicks off at 7:30 pm.
Capital Sport Club, playing under the Benque Viejo United franchise, have lost both of their opening fixtures. After falling 7–0 to Verdes in Week 2, they suffered a 5–1 defeat to Progresso last Sunday in Orange Walk. Raheem Eagan scored their lone goal in the 58th minute, but defensive lapses allowed Progresso to score five times, including two goals in added time.
Belmopan earned their first win of the season last Saturday, defeating Wagiya 3–0 at home. Eugene Martinez opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 16th minute, Adam Kamarra added a second in the 36th, and Stephen Moralez sealed the result in the 62nd. The win followed a goalless draw against Progresso in Week 2.
Belmopan sit fourth with four points and have yet to concede a goal. Capital remain seventh with a goal difference of -11. Saturday’s fixture is Capital’s first home game at the Isidoro Beaton.
