THE STVINCENT AND the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) is cementing new partnerships, whilst keeping its social responsibilities at the front of its mandate.
Hence, the national football body, along with the Caribbean Children’s Charity Shield, and the Social Workers Association of St Vincent and the Grenadines have merged forces to assist at-risk youths.
With the SVGFF having played a pivotal role in the hosting of the Caribbean Shield here in St Vincent and the Grenadines, between August 4 to 9, 2025, the linkages were tightened.
At a brief ceremony held at the La Vue Hotel on August 8, 2025, a quantity of school supplies was handed over to the Social Workers Association of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Tricia Browne, Secretary of the Caribbean Children’s Charity Shield, in making the donation noted, “These supplies may look simple, but they are powerful tools. For some children it is the difference between showing up willing to learn or feeling left behind, and we want every child to feel confident and capable of reaching their dreams”.
Browne thus underscored that, “The initiative is part of the Caribbean Children’s Charity Shield, a movement that uses the power of football and community service to support vulnerable children across the region.
It is about giving them the tools needed in the classroom, on the field, and in life. This is the start of a partnership in social work and football.We see sports as a pathway out of poverty”.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Social Workers’ Association of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Urania Haywood, assured that the supplies will form part on an initiative soon to be rolled out by her organization.
