By Aaron Humes: Months after 39-year-old Brandon Baptist was killed and three others injured at a football game following an argument, the only man accused in the shooting, 29-year-old Shevaughn Gotoy, faces more charges.
Gotoy was charged in February with three counts of attempted murder, two counts of dangerous harm, three counts of the use of deadly means of harm, and one count of wounding. He now faces two additional charges of grievous harm, per Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch, who indicated that “Yeah, that file was sent to the DPP, and that is the directive that came, that only this person be charged for grievous harm.”
It means that still there have been no specific charges for the death of Baptist, though ACP Romero said those were the charges “for now.”
Gotoy, represented by Ronell Gonzalez and O.J. Elrington, maintains he shot in self-defense.
