CELTIC daft Rod Stewart says there’s no chance he’s going to Ibrox to watch the Old Firm as he’ll ‘get his throat slit’.
The rocker joked during an interview on TalkSport today about football and also admitted he felt sorry for rivals Rangers.
Asked if he was going to tomorrow’s game, he said: “Are you kidding me? Go to Ibrox? I’ll get me throat cut.”
Sir Rod, 80, said the Light Blues need an Old Firm win or their “season is over”.
He added: “It’s unpredictable. It really is. I mean, if they lose, Rangers lose, that’s it. Season’s over with nine points in front.”
But he said the “bigger picture” is not good for Scottish football.
He said: “It’s just been the worst week I can remember. It’s just awful. I must admit, I do feel sorry for McCoisty and Rangers and all of them. I mean, I want to beat them, obviously, but the big picture is Scottish football, you know, and it’s taken an embarrassing turn. Nothing to be proud of.”
The D’Ya Think I’m Sexy singer also questioned his own team’s tactics after they came crashing out of the Champions League.
Host Ray Parlour told Sir Roddy he was disappointed the Hoops wouldn’t be joining Arsenal in the Champions League group after losing to Kiarat Almaty earlier this week.
Sir Rod said: “Everybody has to understand, we haven’t got the money of Arsenal. Everybody knows that.
“But we do seem to be a bit slow in transfers this year. But we have signed two players, Alan, apparently, in the last 24 hours.”
The crooner said he “couldn’t understand” Celtic’s apparent reluctance to enter the opposition’s half and said he’s even asked a former Scotland manager pal for advice.
He added: “I counted six sideways passes. Neither of the centre-backs wanted to cross the halfway line. And we needed a goal.
“Now, I’ve asked my good mate, Gordon Strachan, what this is all about and no one can tell me. Can you two?
“Do you know how much Celtic’s team are worth? £120 million. And the team we played in Kazakhstan was worth £9 million.”
Despite his frustrations the football- mad singer said the unpredictability of the game is “what makes it wonderful”.
Rod is currently on a world tour but revealed he’s thinking about touring the UK again, before he hits his next big milestone birthday.
Alan Brazil asked Sir Rod when he would next be at Parkhead to see his beloved Hoops play and he said: “I’m going to try and get up for the Kilmarnock game, because I go back on tour in a couple of weeks in America, yeah.
“I’ve got to go to Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, all of those places before Christmas.
“I’ve got to think about this, (touring the UK) because I’m not getting any younger, you know. I’ve got to do something in the UK before I get to 90.”

And Sir Rod says this time it’s not just his backing dancers that are wearing Celtic shirts.
He added: “The orchestra wore Celtic kits as well. I’m a bit over the top, aren’t I?”
