CELTIC appear to have LOST OUT on Kasper Dolberg.
The Anderlecht striker is a top target for the Hoops, with Brendan Rodgers desperate to land a striker.
Adam Idah is in the final stages of completing a move to Swansea City and Rodgers has been adamant he would need a replacement lined up.
We exclusively revealed that Dolberg was the man he wanted but former club Ajax entered the race for him on deadline day.
The Dutch giants face losing Brian Brobbey to Sunderland and according to Sky Sports, they are considering a late swoop for the Danish international to replace him.
And a separate report from ESPN Netherlands claims that the player has indeed REJECTED Celtic’s offer, setting up a potential emotional return to his old team.
Dolberg, 27, previously starred for Ajax and scored 45 goals over 119 appearances in four years.
Sky claim that Ajax are only willing to do a loan deal.
Celtic remain ready to part with upwards of £8m for the player.
But it’s believed the player has turned down Celtic’s advances after learning of Ajax’s intentions, forcing his club’s hand.
Rodgers said prior to the game against Rangers of Idah’s future: “I think it’s still ongoing.
“It’s obviously the club are in talks with Swansea, so obviously not available today. That’s the current situation.”
