CELTIC have secured the services of one of their top transfer targets just in time for the deadline closing… after being told to DOUBLE their offer for the player.
Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers had been making it clear in recent weeks that he needed more attacking reinforcements.
The Celtic board stood firm in their belief that squad as it stands was good enough to beat Kairat Almaty in their Champions League play-off – but Rodgers’ side lost on penalties after failing to score in 120 minutes.
Then came the 0-0 draw with Rangers at the weekend, leaving fans crying out for more options in the final third.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers told the club’s official website: “I’m really happy that Sebastian has joined the Club and I am sure he will be a really exciting addition to our squad.
“He will give us that real added attacking intent and I am sure he can make a big difference to us.

“He is a quick, clever winger who can operate on both sides, creating opportunities for himself and others. Myself and our coaches are really looking forward to working with Sebastian.”
Hammarby star Sebastian Tounekti emerged as a target for Celts in the last ten days and it’s understood a £2.7million bid was made for him and swiftly rejected.
Celtic then came in with an offer of £3.9m (£4.7m including bonuses) but the Swedish side wanted to hold out for at least £5m.
The player himself said on Sunday night after scoring in his team’s 4-0 win over Osters that he expected Celtis to go “all the way” in trying to sign him.
That prediction has come true, with the winger signing a XX-year deal with the Glasgow club.
Tounekti, 24, has two caps for Tunisia and only joined Hammarby at the start of 2025
Primarily a left winger, Tounekti made 27 appearances for Hamamrby and scored three goals, adding five assists.
He previously played for Ranheim, Haugesun, Grongingen and Bodo/Glimt, after graduating through the youth system and into the first team at Tromsdalen in Norway.
Tounekti was born in Norway and played for them at youth level, but he has a Tunisian father and they capped him first at senior level.
