YOUSSEF CHERMITI has become Rangers’ most expensive signing since Tore Andre Flo.
The Portuguese sealed an initial £8million move from Everton on deadline day.
The bumper deal could eventually rise to £10m.
While Cyriel Dessers was securing his £4.5million switch to Panathinaikos, Chermiti was checking in on a four-year contract.
It’s Gers’ biggest spend since splashing out £12m to land Flo from Chelsea back in 2000.
Chermiti said: “I know the football style here in Scotland so that’s a good start.
“Of course, I have some friends who have played here like Fabio and Rafa.
“But I think everyone in the world knows about Rangers.
“For me, the most important thing is the interest from the club and the manager.
“And of course, I want to play. So I’m coming here to play.
“When I was 18 I moved to Everton and I’ve been there for two years now.
“It was tough in the beginning but my development has kept going.
“The Premier League is one of the toughest leagues in the world but to get in there is good.
“I think I can bring good things for the team and the club.
“But the most important thing is making the fans happy.
“I can bring sharpness, quick feet, assists and goals. I just want to help everyone here.
“I know Rangers is a big club, everyone knows about them.
“With the project Kevin and the manager showed me, I knew this was the best option for me.
“I’ve watched Rangers games in the Champions League and Europa League. Not so much in the Scottish league except the derbies.

“I can’t wait to meet everyone in the club and get involved in this environment.”
