CELTIC have revealed their ticket prices for their upcoming league phase campaign in the Europa League.
The Hoops’ announcement comes amid ongoing frustrations with the club’s board.
Tensions are high between the Celtic fans and those running the club at the moment.
Supporters have been unhappy with the club’s transfer business this summer, with manager Brendan Rodgers revealing his own frustrations at various points.
The finger of blame has been pointed towards those running the club by fans.
Fan fury boiled over during Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Kairat Almaty in Champions League qualifying, with fans chanting ‘sack the board’ and aiming X-rated blasts at chairman Peter Lawwell and chief executive Michael Nicholson.
A week later, the Celts were eliminated from Champions League contention on penalties after being held to another goalless draw by the Kazakhstan outfit.
Frustrations at the transfer business heightened following the club’s exit from European football‘s top competition.
Hundreds of Celtic fan groups signed an open letter demanding answers from the board.
After a meeting between a select few organisations and club chiefs last Friday, the Hoops released a late night statement on Saturday night defending the club’s transfer business and outlining reasons for their approach.
It’s fair to say the statement failed to reach the right note, with fans reacting angrily and votes of no confidence being unleashed by a number of supporter organisations.
Amid all the drama, Celtic have now released ticket prices for their four home matches in the league phase campaign in the Europa League.
The Hoops will face Braga, Sturm Graz, Roma and Utrecht in their at Parkhead, with the games ranging from early October until the end of January.
Season ticket holders are being given the chance to purchase a package containing all four matches.
The adult price for this comes in at £140, working out at £35 per match.
The concession price is £112 (£28 per match) with an under-13 package costing £100 (£25 match).
The prices are down from last year’s European match package, but the Celts were on that occasion gearing up to compete in the Champions League instead.
The adult package last year came in at £184, £46 per match.
Rivals Rangers released their Europa League prices earlier this month.
Unlike Celtic, the Gers split their tickets into three categories.
The package price for category A is £188 (£47 per game) with category C coming in at £168 (£42 per game).
Despite the £35 per game price, many Celtic fans’ anger and frustration towards the club at the moment was still clear as day.
The club’s announcement was inundated with angry replies.
Many fans called for a ‘boycott’ while several responded with ‘sack the board.’
One fed up fan blasted: “They actually deserve the stadium to be empty.”
Similarly, another fumed: “I hope it’s empty.”
Others pointed to the fact that the ticket price per match was actually more expensive than the last time Celtic competed at this stage of the Europa League.
The Hoops entered the old format group stage back in 2021, with a three-match home game package coming in at £72 for an adult, £24 per game.
One fan fumed: “That’s a 45 per-cent increase on the £24 charged per game when we were last in the Europa League.”
A second said: “This season’s concession tickets are more expensive than adult tickets were the last time we sold a Europa League package.”
Among the posts full of frustration, many Celtic fans called on their fellow supporters to get behind the team.
One replied: “Anyway, it’s cheaper than I expected.”
