SCOTTISH golf hero Robert MacIntyre was crudely heckled by American fans as he teed off for the first time at the Ryder Cup.
The Oban ace was paired with Norwegian Viktor Hovland in the opening day of the tournament, with the duo going up against Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay in the Foursomes session.

They were the last grouping to take to the course as team Europe took a 3-0 lead.
But MacIntyre and Hovland were the only European pair to not come out on top as experienced duo Schauffele and Cantlay got the job done in the final two holes to register the first point for USA.
The Scot was hoping to have the last laugh in front of the rowdy American crowd after he was targeted by an onlooker just as he got his round underway.
As MacIntyre teed off in the first hole, an American fan shouted ‘get some cardio’ in the direction of the Scottish golfer.

That shout came just moments after he was jeered by the crowd when the announcer introduced him to the stage and when he was doing his practice swings.
He isn’t the only one who has been targeted by fans as Rory McIlroy was also on the receiving end of shouts before a ball had even been struck.
American supporters started chanting “F*** you, Rory” when his appeared on the big screens at Bethpage.
He silenced the fans in his first hole by sinking the putt that gave him and Tommy Fleetwood an early lead.
Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton won the first tie against Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas with a 4-3 scoreline.
Matt Fitzpatrick and Ludvig Aberg then made it 2-0 with a 5-3 win over Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley.
McIlroy and Fleetwood eventually clinched a 5-4 victory over Collin Morikawa and Harris English.
