GLASGOW will take centre stage once again next summer when the Commonwealth Games heads back to the city.
And tickets are on sale for the sporting extravaganza TODAY.

However – not everyone in Scotland will be able to purchase tickets for the events.
Not yet, anyway.
Having brilliantly showcased itself to the world in 2014, Glasgow has stepped in to host next year’s Commonwealth Games too.
The games were originally slated to take place in the Australian state of Victoria.

FIRM DEALS
Free bets and new customer offers for upcoming Rangers and Celtic fixtures
But financial concerns amid escalating costs for hosting the event saw Victoria dramatically pull out of their commitment in 2023, plunging the 2026 Games into doubt
Glasgow was put forward as an alternative and in late 2024, it was confirmed the city would once again host the Games.
There’s now under a year to go until things kick off in July 2026 and the first tickets go on sale TODAY.
But not everyone will be able to get their hands on briefs just yet as the pre-sale window opens.
Only those who have pre-registered for the pre-sale, which will run in various forms across the next week, will be able to gain access.
People living in the Glasgow area – with a ‘G’ postcode – will get first dibs when the sales open at 12 noon on Tuesday.
Around 500,000 tickets are up for grabs.
On Friday, the sale will then be opened up to people across Scotland.
And on Monday next week, people in the UK and beyond will be able to book their tickets for the events.
Remaining tickets will then enter a general sale which kick-starts on Thursday, 30 October.
The 2014 Games in Glasgow were a roaring success and organisers will be hoping for more of the same.
More than 3,000 athletes, including many of the very best in the world, will descend upon Scotland’s biggest city looking to win gold.
Events will be held across the city with venues including Scotstoun Stadium, SEC Centre and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.
