CELTIC fans are divided over Brendan Rodgers’ shock exit from the club after he tendered his resignation last night.
The manager has incredibly quit with less than a year left on his deal after telling fans he would see out his three-year contract when he returned to the club in 2023.

Rodgers was instantly slaughtered by supremo Dermot Desmond after the news was confirmed as he released a statement accusing the manager of creating a “toxic atmosphere” within the club through “divisive” actions.
During the aftermath of the shocking summer transfer window, many Celtic fans made it clear at the time that they wouldn’t grudge Rodgers if he decided to quit.
And even though Rodgers has now decided to drop the bombshell just days before their Premier Sports Cup semi-final showdown with Rangers, a large number of supporters are still behind him.
Reacting to the news on social media, one fan said: “I for one, will forever thank Brendan for all the success he brought to my club. I wish him all the very best for the future! We move on and I’ll be there on Wednesday night and Sunday and I will fully support the team and MON/SM. Hail Hail 🍀🍀”

Another agreed: “Delighted that Brendan had the gumption to tell this shambles of a Board he was off. Sorry to see him go, but this is on Nicholson, Lawwell & Desmond.”
Someone else said: “How can you blame him. Not me, hung out to dry. Board so unattached from the fans.”
A fourth commented: “Fair play to Rodgers, he’s done the right thing for me. The board need to be held to account as well.”
A fifth said: “I actually admire him for taking the step. Hope he comes out and speaks openly on how the board let him down in both tenures and bares all on the lack of work that goes on behind the scenes.”
While a sixth admitted: “Gutted. BR wanted to raise the standards, board weren’t interested. Don’t blame him one bit for leaving.”
Those fans don’t speak for the full Celtic support, though.
There is a section of the fanbase who can’t forgive the Northern Irishman for the part he played in the start of this disastrous season.
Celtic currently sit eight points behind Hearts in the league and crashed out of the Champions League at the first hurdle to Kairat Almaty.
Recruitment has played a big part in the club’s downfall.
And many believe Rodgers deserves a large part of the blame for the way the club has been run in recent months.
One fan insisted: “The last six months we’ve been poor, not just this season. Rodgers is to blame.”
Another said: “Rodgers has had enough backing to be doing better than what he has lately. The football, tactics and ideas were all completely lifeless.
Someone else agreed and added: “He had no idea on how to or willingness to improve things and his time was done.
