THE PREMIER LEAGUE has been given an unprecedented exemption from the strict 3pm TV blackout.
That is according to reports from The Athletic, which claim that a recent change has allowed games to be broadcast on two days during the upcoming festive period.

These days fall on December 27th and January 3rd, scheduled to host the 18th and 20th gameweeks of the season.
This would allow the games, scheduled for 3pm on the Saturdays in question, to be broadcast, subverting the typical blackout at those times.
However, The Athletic also understands that the league does not intend to exercise their ability to broadcast those games.
The Premier League as a whole has maintained its support for observing the blackout.
