RANGERS boss Danny Rohl’s first experience of a bitter city derby ended with defeat and a bizarre row about a song about sausage rolls.
The German boss will experience his first Old Firm showdown tomorrow against Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup semi final.

Rohl was involved in two controversial Steel City derbies when he was Sheffield Wednesday boss – beginning with when they met Sheffield United for the first time in five years in a clash at Bramall Lane in November 2024 in the English Championship.
A goal from Tyrese Campbell settled the issue in a 1-0 defeat for Rohl, but the loss left a bitter taste in the mouth due to the antics of Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, who is now in his third spell in charge of the Blades.
United fans taunted Rohl by changing the Wednesday fans’ chant of ‘Danny, Danny Rohl’ to ‘sausage, sausage roll.’
Wilder was then filmed standing up in a bar in Sheffield singing the same song later that night, which attracted plenty of criticism.

Rohl was asked about his rival manager signing the chant and stated: “If you ask me, if the opponent has a song about me, maybe it is not the worst thing.
“Maybe it’s because they have a big respect for me. That’s the way I take it.
“Personally, I wouldn’t do what he did, but if the opponent stadium sings about me and not their own team, hey, they can think what they want.
“Chris Wilder is experienced enough to make his own choices.
“What he does or what he is not doing, I have my opinion, I have my own style of how I celebrate wins or not.
“I am looking forward to the next game in March.”
However, Rohl was to taste defeat for a second time in his only other experience of a derby as manager. United beat Wednesday 1-0 again, at Hillsborough, thanks to a goal from Rhian Brewster.
