ROBBIE KEANE wants to make a sensational return to Wolves, this time as manager.
talkSPORT is reporting that the former Republic of Ireland striker has applied for the vacant job after Vitor Pereira was sacked on Sunday.
Pereira was axed after a disastrous start to the season that’s seen Wolves fail to win any of their first ten Premier League matches, leaving them rock bottom with just two points.
Keane, 45, scored 27 goals in 85 appearances for Wolves before going on to star for Tottenham, Liverpool and Celtic during an illustrious playing career.
He’s now thrown his hat into the ring to take charge of the club where it all began.
SunSport understands that he faces competition, with former boss Gary O’Neil in talks over a dramatic return to Molineux.

O’Neil, who was dismissed last December, is still highly regarded by Wolves’ hierarchy and discussions over his potential comeback are said to be progressing positively.
Wolves’ 3–0 defeat to Fulham at the weekend has left them staring at a relegation fight and the board are desperate for someone who can turn things around quickly.
Keane has been building his reputation in the dugout in recent years.
After a short stint as player-manager at ATK in India, he worked as assistant boss for the Republic of Ireland before heading to Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he won the Israeli Premier League title and Toto Cup.

He then joined Hungarian side Ferencvaros at the start of 2025 and lifted another league trophy.
The ex-Spurs hero has also been linked with the Celtic job following Brendan Rodgers’ departure but could now be in line for a return to the club where his professional career began.
Wolves are considering all options as they look to salvage their season.
Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards, another former Wolves player, has also been sounded out, but prising him away from the Championship promotion hopefuls would require paying compensation.
Whether it’s Keane, O’Neil or another name entirely, Wolves need a saviour fast and the Irish legend is ready to answer the call.
