WILLIAMS RACING have announced a change to their name and return to an iconic look in a 21st century refresh of its rich heritage.
The iconic constructor is Formula One’s third most successful team of all time with nine titles to their name, bettered only by Ferrari (16) and McLaren (10).
However, the team has fallen on dire straits since the turn of the millennium, with their last title coming in 1997.
But with Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz behind the wheel and under the guidance of team principal James Vowles, the team appear to have turned a corner and are running as the best of the rest with four races of the season to go.
And ahead of the massive 2026 F1 regulation changes Williams have also announced an update to their team name and logo.
Next year Williams will move away from “Atlassian Williams Racing” and will instead be known as “Atlassian Williams F1”.

The team are also refreshing their logo with a 21st century reimagining inspired by the original “Forward W” introduced in their maiden season of 1977 by the legendary Frank Williams.
It has featured on every single one of the team’s nine Constructors’ World Championship winning cars, with its last appearance coming in 1999 before they partnered with BMW.
In a statement Vowles said: “I am proud that from next year we will be known as Atlassian Williams F1 Team and carry a logo on our car inspired by our founder Sir Frank Williams and deeply connected with our decades of success.

“As a team we are inspired by our past but excited about our future, and committed to writing a new Championship-winning chapter in Williams’ history.
“This evolved team identity reflects who we are, where we are going, and reintroduces our title-winning legacy to a growing F1 audience that was not following the sport when we were last dominant.”
Williams secured their first podium since 2021 at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix earlier this season, while the United States grand prix also seeing them score their first sprint podium.
