DAVID MARTINDALE has proved many people wrong in his career to date.
And the Livingston boss is set to bring another barrier crashing down after being booked to appear on BBC Scotland‘s flagship Debate Night show this week.

The topical debate show, hosted by Stephen Jardine, checks in at nearby Bathgate on Wednesday night and Livi gaffer Martindale makes a surprise first appearance on the show alongside various politicians and journalists.
The 51-year-old, who was jailed for six-and-a-half years in 2006 for drug trafficking and money laundering offenses, and served over three years in prison, is an engaging talker on a number of subjects.
One of the Scottish game’s longest-serving managers, he has been a huge success since taking over the Livi job in 2020.
And he’s due to be grilled by a panel of members of the public alongside Seamus Logan MP from the SNP, Stephen Kerr MSP from the Scottish Conservatives, Pauline McNeil MSP from Scottish Labour, and Laura Webster, the editor of The National.

Martindale certainly isn’t shy about speaking his mind about the big subjects of the day when it comes to football.
He has consistently called for Scotland to have a BIGGER top flight and saying there needs to be more positivity when it comes to Scotland’s national sport.
He said recently: “I’m sick of turning Sky Sports on and listening to YouTubers and Podcasters telling managers where they’re going wrong.
“The narrative is all wrong now. They need to be much, much more positive in terms of our product.
“And that’s not just Scotland, that’s the wider UK, I feel.
“It just seems like everyone is focused on the negative.”
