JACKSONVILLE, Texas — Authorities are continuing the search for Bobby Michael Dennis, 64, who is wanted for allegedly shooting a Jacksonville police officer, CBS News reported.
The incident occurred around 4:41 p.m. on Nov. 2. The officer, who has not been publicly identified, underwent surgery and is currently in stable condition, according to the Jacksonville Police Department. A K-9 officer was also injured during the encounter.

A Blue Alert remains in effect, and Dennis is considered armed and dangerous.
Dennis is now facing warrants for aggravated assault against a public servant and interference with a police service animal.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to Dennis’ arrest and added him to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s 10 Most Wanted fugitives list, according to the report.
“Attacks on our men and women in uniform must stop,” Abbott said in a statement.
Authorities are urging the public not to approach Dennis if spotted and instead call 911 immediately.
As a precaution, Jacksonville Independent School District (JISD) has canceled classes for the second consecutive day. The district said it is working closely with law enforcement and will provide updates as the situation evolves.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted online through the Texas 10 Most Wanted website. Jacksonville Police are requesting doorbell, surveillance or dashcam footage from the area around the 1100 block of Churchill Street from 4 p.m. Sunday onward.
