A BALLBOY at last week’s Old Firm semi-final was brutally attacked as he walked home from Hampden on Sunday.
The 18-year-old who had been on duty at the Rangers V Celtic match suffered a broken nose, cracked jaw and leg injuries as he was set upon by around 12 Gers hooligans.

The youngster’s phone was also smashed during the assault but the stricken teenager was helped home by another Rangers fan, who used his scarf to stem the bleeding.
A family member said: ”He is still in total shock.
“He was about five minutes from the ground in Battlefield when he was set upon.
“He wasn’t showing any colours but we think they clocked the Celtic top he was wearing under his jacket.”

“When he managed to get home, we called the Police and took him to hospital.”
The lad was just one of three people attacked that afternoon.
Around noon, a 51-year-old man was punched to the ground in the city’s Govanhill area.
The shocking incident was captured on video as a group of Union Bears members made their way down the busy Southside thoroughfare.
The suspect was wearing a black jacket, black hat and black trousers.
Around 4pm, paramedics rushed to the lower tier of Hampden’s west stand to treat an injured man.
Superintendent Paul Douglas said of those two injuries: “All of these vile assaults were unprovoked and left the victims terrified.
“It is completely unacceptable that someone simply doing their job or someone simply walking home has been injured due to violence.
“We will use the full extent of our powers to hold those responsible to account.
“We are looking for anyone who witnessed either of these assaults, or anyone with relevant CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage, to please contact us.”

Police Scotland, however, would offer no specific comment on the injured ballboy.
The Scottish Football Association was approached for comment.
