ANDY HALLIDAY has found out he had a love rival… from 22 years ago!
The Motherwell star was left red-faced during an appearance on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard programme when a fan phoned up to reveal that the midfielder used to fancy his future WIFE.
Halliday, 34, even joked that he hoped his current wife wasn’t listening to the show or he would be getting an earful later on.
The bizarre call began by the fan stating that before making his main point, he wanted to address former Rangers man directly.
Phoning in from East Kilbride, the caller, named Donald, told how he and Halliday attended the same primary school.
And that one day, Halliday let slip about a guilty crush.

He began: “First of all Andy, I’m 34 years of age and went to Cardonald Primary School…”
To which Halliday noted: “Oh alright, we must’ve been in the same class then?”
Caller Donald then said: “Well I was actually in the other primary seven class, as there was two of them.
“But you’ll remember one playtime telling me that you fancied a girl called Sharon?”
Halliday and the panel burst into laughter, at which point the Motherwell star groaned: “I hope my wife isn’t listening to this!”
Host Duncan then said: “Right my head has gone here, because I’m listening to the two of you and there’s no way that you’re the same age!
“But Donald tell me more, he used to fancy a girl called Sharon?”
“Sharon Osbourne, d’you remember here?” the caller replied.
Noticing the similarity to the Sharon Osbourne, wife of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, the panel again erupted in laughter.
Donald would then go on to make his football-related point, which was that he had put a bet on Rangers to win the league BEFORE they had sacked Russell Martin.
He had predicted that Gers would sack Martin and that a new manager would enjoy an upturn in form, coupled with Celtic struggling and Hearts falling away in the Premiership title race.
For that to all come true there’s a long way to go, but soon the conversation circled back to Halliday’s former crush.
And that’s when things took a turn.
The fan revealed that he ended up MARRYING Sharon, much to the panel’s shock.
He said: “Just to finish my point. I married Sharon!”
Halliday and co couldn’t contain themselves any longer, with SunSport’s own David Friel commenting live: “What a twist!”
Host Duncan then said: “Donald you should write soap operas because you’ve reeled me in. Sharon is your wife but Andy fancied here?”
Halliday then replied: “So you beat me to her?”
