SCOTT BROWN has Ayr United heavily involved in the race for promotion this season.
And it seems like the Celtic legend might be taking some advice from one of English football’s most experienced managers.
Brown, 40, is in his second full season as Ayr manager.
The former Hoops and Scotland captain led the Somerset Park club to a third placed finish in the Championship last season.
However, their quest to reach the Premiership was ended at the first play-off hurdle by Partick Thistle.
The gut-wrenching defeat over two legs saw Brown admit he would have to have a “long, hard think about things and see where I go from here.”

He stayed put and once again has Ayr pushing towards the top of the table.
They’ve taken 19 points from their opening 14 matches and currently sit fifth in the Championship table.
Ayr are, however, only two points behind Arbroath who are in third as it stands.
And those two sides do, in fact, face each other at Somerset Park this coming weekend in a huge league showdown.
Ahead of that game, Brown appears to have been down visiting one of English football’s top clubs.
Taking to his Instagram stories, he shared a picture from outside Everton‘s iconic Finch Farm training ground.
Exactly what he’s doing at the Toffees is unknown, but he could well be there to watch David Moyes in action.
During a spell out of management between his stints at Fleetwood and Ayr in early 2024, Brown spent some time learning from Moyes who was West Ham manager at the time.
Brown also visited Tottenham towards the end of 2023 to spend time with former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou who had taken up post at the North London giants just a few months before.
Brown was Hoops skipper during their nine-in-a-row success.
He spent 14 years with the Parkhead club between 2007 and 2021 before finishing his playing career at Aberdeen.
After combining his playing duties with a coaching role at Pittodrie, he landed his first managerial gig with Fleetwood in 2022 but was sacked the following year.
