FORMER Ross County boss Derek Adams has been appointed the director of football at Plymouth Argyle.
It’s just three months since the 50-year-old was sacked by English League Two outfit Morecambe just a day after they were taken over by new owners.

Adams returns to the League One club where he had a successful four-year spell that included promotion to the third tier in 2017.
Plymouth say his role will involve managing the men‘s first-team structure and support head of football operations David Fox and head coach Tom Cleverley.
Adams will provide “strategic guidance rather than day-to-day coaching responsibilities.”
The club’s chairman Simon Hallett said: “Derek is someone who knows Argyle well after a long period of time here as manager.

“He has extensive knowledge across all areas of the football pyramid in both England and Scotland and will provide valuable support to both David and Tom as we look to come through this challenging period.
“He is someone that has experience of tough circumstances and will work closely with all areas of the men’s football department to ensure results and performances improve.”
Adams played for several clubs including Ross County and Motherwell.
He then moved into management and had three different spells in charge of the Staggies, leading them to promotion to the Scottish top flight in 2012.
Adams also had three separate stints at Morecambe and one year at Bradford City.
Argyle’s chief executive believes Adams’ experience can help turn the club’s fortunes around with them currently bottom of League One under Tom Cleverley.
Paul Berne added: “We are all aware the situation we are in is not good enough and the board believe bringing in someone of Derek’s experience will support us as we work to improve.
“He will work closely with the men’s football staff as we approach a busy period of fixtures and head towards the January transfer window.
“He has the experience and expertise to contribute immediately to planning and decision making and I look forward to seeing him back at Home Park.”
“I am pleased to welcome him back to Argyle.”
