AMERICAN billionaire John McEvoy wants to buy Sheffield Wednesday — and was given a guided tour around Hillsborough this week.
The club’s administrators are currently fielding interest from potential buyers as part of a 28-day marketing process that is nearing its end.

There are understood to be a total of 11 parties interested that have shown they have proof of the £50million needed to purchase the club.
McEvoy and his associates were shown around the stadium and training ground on Wednesday, while another American consortium were also given a tour.
A different group has also been shown around, while former Newcastle owner Mike Ashley remains firmly interested in purchasing the club,
McEvoy has a strong portfolio of business interests, including founder of a San Diego-based mobile device distribution company through which he made the vast majority of his fortune.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday sources have revealed to SunSport that they are on course to make a £1MILLION profit by Christmas since the club went into administration last month and brought about the departure of ex-owner Dejphon Chansiri.
A GoFundMe page, organised by Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Trust, has raised around £60,000, with other donations and fundraisers pushing the total towards £90,000
The ground was virtually sold out for their last two home games while all tickets are gone for next Sunday’s Steel City derby.
A source said: “The response from the fans has been incredible.
“Everyone is coming back in their droves after the Chansiri era came to an end but we’re still in administration so must not grow complacent.”
