JOHN TERRY is a very sore loser, in the best way possible.
It’s one of the many qualities that led him to become Chelsea’s greatest ever captain, and the best defender in their illustrious history.

He’s carried a hatred for losing into his retirement from professional football, and in an appearance on the Obi One Podcast, told fans of how he still can’t take the bitter taste of defeat.
The Blues legends’ side was stacked to the brim with big names, with the club eager to avenge an earlier defeat against Liverpool by bringing back club legends Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.
But despite a good showing from Hazard on his return, and a classic Costa fight with Martin Skrtel in October, Chelsea were beaten.
A late winner from Ryan Babel, who dedicated his goal celebration to the late Diogo Jota, saw the Reds come out 1-0 winners in the 80-minute tie in South West London.

Most players, Costa and Skrtel included, put their differences to one side at the after party, but it was something the legendary JT couldn’t stomach in the wake of defeat.
Terry, 44, was so fuming at the outcome of the game that he told his wife, Toni, they couldn’t attend it, and instead went home to RE-WATCH the match as if it was a lost Champions League final.
He said: “I hate losing. That did me in the legends game because we put a really strong squad together to beat Liverpool.
“We lost at Anfield a few months back and a few of us couldn’t play, Eden and Diego were coming back for the first time, we had put a really strong side together.

“The fans came out and paid good money to see our generation of players, and you want to show that you’ve still got something as the old boys.
“I was fuming. We had an afterparty under the Bridge. We’ve gone in and I said to my wife ‘we need to go’ so I’ve asked the guys to send me the video of the game and we’ve gone home.
“I just watched the whole game again. Fuming at loads of different passes.
“Even stuff like the toss of the coin. I would always change ends if it’s a big team if we were away, and stayed the same at the Bridge.
“I was questioning myself on Saturday night, saying ‘I should’ve changed ends’. They’re the kinds of things that never leave you. I hate losing at anything.”
Terry though, is still able to reflect on the experience as a whole in a positive manner.
One of, if not the most cherished player in CFC history, the former club captain was lauded by fans before, during, and after the match, and gave some wholesome insight into the game too.
He added: “I’m quite an emotional person so playing in that game meant the world to me.
“As I ran out, my banner is there, the supporters were there, I just had to take a moment.

“I did a stretch on my own and my eyes filled up. This football club is everything to me.
He laughed, looking forward to the next time Chelsea’s legends get together, joking: “We need a little confidence booster, we’ll play Spurs!”
