WITH A TALLY of 1160.5 points, hosts St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) ensured that a third consecutive podium spot was realized at the 2025 OECS Swimming Championships that took place at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre, Ratho Mill, from November, 7-9, 2025.
SVG thus trailed champions, Grenada on 1263.5 points, and St Lucia with 1239 points.
SAPPHIRE SPARKS – St Lucia
Last year’s winners, Antigua and Barbuda this time around, had to settle for fourth place on 1117 points.
The other four competing countries were St Kitts and Nevis, the British Virgin Islands , Dominica, and Anguilla, finishing in that order.
Apart from maintaining their third place spot, St Vincent and the Grenadines was able to pouch two individual titles via Kion De Shong and Kennice Greene, scoring 91 and 93 points, respectively.
De Shong champed the Male 11-12 age group, earning eight gold medals and setting personal bests in all 11 races he contested.
Likewise, Greene who won in the Female 15 to 17 category, had eight medals to her name.
The other individual champions were exported, with Grenada taking the most.
Among the Grenadian awards were the Female 8 and Under, won by Brianne De Roche with 57 points.
Mateo Thomas took the Male 9 to 10 with 63 points; Kristin Gersham secured the Female 13 to 14, registering 86 points.
