FORMER Ukraine player Andriy Polunin has died aged 55.
The ex-defender suffered a heart attack while playing in a veterans’ match in Lutsk.

Polunin was capped nine times by Ukraine, scoring once.
He had a lengthy career spanning ten clubs, with the bulk of his appearances coming at FC Dnipro.
One of his former clubs Metallist 1925 have paid tribute to the ex-defender following his passing.
A statement read: “Metalist 1925 expresses its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Andriy Viktorovych.

Another of his clubs, FC Karpaty Lviv, wrote: “Eternal memory to Andriy Polunin, sincere condolences to his family and friends.”
Polunin retired from playing in 2004 and took up several roles, first as a scout and later a sporting director.
