The Breast Cancer Foundation Cayman will host Caymans first-ever 24-hour pickleball-a-thon, ‘Dink for Pink’, this weekend.
Set to be a high-energy community rally, the event is dedicated to raising vital funds and awareness for breast cancer prevention, early detection and comprehensive wellness initiatives across the islands.
This ground-breaking event, set for Friday and Saturday, 28-29 Nov. at Pickleball Cayman, will bring together pickleball enthusiasts, corporate teams and solo challengers for a full 24 hours of non-stop play, with 20 teams currently registered.
The funds generated from this endurance challenge will directly power the foundation’s local programmes, including free mammograms, wellness therapies, counselling and educational initiatives to reach and help support individuals and families throughout the Cayman Islands.
Beverly Edgington, chief administrator of the Breast Cancer Foundation Cayman, describes the event as “a 24-hour rally of compassion and strength”.
“It’s more than a marathon of pickleball, it’s where every serve and rally makes an impact. The funds raised stay in the Cayman Islands, driving early detection and supporting the programs that help our survivors thrive. Because hope begins at home,” she said.
Edgington says the response from the community has been “extraordinary”, adding, “The community’s overwhelming support shows just how powerful our shared commitment is to early detection and survivor support.”
