The combined efforts of Michael Roberts and Tafari Looby saw Blackburn Palace take full advantage of a tame Young Warriors who were handed 6-0 on Monday in the Second Division of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Premier League.
The match played at Fort Road saw both players successful in front of goal twice with Roberts scoring in the very first minute of the match before Looby responded with double strikes in the 6th and 10th to take the score to a 3-0 lead in just 10 minutes.
Not helping their cause, the Warriors’ Tren’l Edwards’ own-goal three minutes after extended the lead for Palace. Demarre Swift scored the final goal of the first half as it ended 5-0.
The final goals of the match were scored by Roberts as he completed his brace on the 84th.
The scheduled encounter between Bethesda FC and TAMO FC saw the former collecting three points as the latter defaulted.
Matches played on Tuesday saw Police beat North Coast FC by a one-nil margin, thanks to Terrel Richards’ 48th minute strike in the First Division.
In First Division matches also played on Tuesday, Empire defeated English Harbour 2-1 whereas Five Islands FC and Bendals played to a draw and it was the same result for the Bolans FC and Master Blasters fixture.
