RANGERS fans are facing a sanction on away tickets after a huge pyrotechnics display before kick-off against Kilmarnock this evening.
The away end at Rugby Park was a sea of red smoke before the match got underway as the travelling supporters set off flares in the stands.

It’s likely this display will force action from the SPFL following previously punished rule breaches.
They found themselves in hot water following a pyro display on the league’s opening day against Motherwell.
An investigation was launched into the ‘large-scale, organised and illegal’ usage of flares, after which the SPFL concluded the following:
“The club was found to have breached SPFL Rule H37 in failing to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that their supporters did not engage in “unacceptable conduct” at that match.

“The club were also found to have failed to identify or take proportionate disciplinary measures against the supporters responsible for the pyrotechnic display.”
“The following sanction was imposed: (i) A suspended reduction of 50 tickets for a future away match in an SPFL competition, to be triggered in event of another rule breach of SPFL Rule H37 through pyrotechnic use by the club’s supporters at an away match in any SPFL competition on, or before, 30 June 2026.
“If this sanction is triggered, the club will be required to pay the costs for said 50 tickets to the home club for the respective match.”
It seems highly probable that this evening’s effort will indeed trigger this sanction.
So if and when that comes into force, 50 Gers fans will miss out on an away game while the club will have to pay somewhere in the region of £1,500 to the hosts.
Today’s incident and the one against the ‘Well aren’t the only examples of the club being hit for fan misbehaviour.
Uefa handed out three charges back in March for a ‘racist/discriminatory banner’ and the throwing of objects onto the pitch.
Scenes similar to those at Rugby Park tonight also unfolded against Club Brugge in an August Champions League play-off.
