
CELTIC says police are taking action amid claims posters targeting club bosses were left near their homes.
Parkhead chiefs says signs designed to “intimidate and threaten” were put up near the houses of three board members and their head of security prompting the force to launch a probe.


They claim one was even posted close to the school attended by one senior staff member’s children.
Fans have demanded change after a chaotic start to the season which has seen the champions trail Hearts in the league, manager Brendan Rodgers walk away, fans banned and criticism of the side’s transfer business.
Protests against the board saw the Hoop’s AGM abandoned after 25 minutes a fortnight ago.
A Celtic spokesman told The Sunday Mail: “We can confirm that a targeted attempt has been made to intimidate Peter Lawwell, Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay, Mark Hargreaves and their families.

“A number of posters similar to those we have seen this season have been posted in the vicinity of the homes of Peter, Michael, Chris and Mark.
“These signs have also been posted at a school attended by one of their children.
“This is a disgusting and cowardly attempt to intimidate and threaten Club staff and their families.
“We are aware that Police Scotland is investigating these incidents.
“The Club is firm in its resolve not to give in to this type of intimidation.”
Chairman Mr Lawwell, CEO Mr Nicholson, chief financial officer Mr McKay and head of security Mr Hargreaves have been targets of fan protests due to the lacklustre start to the season.
A sign featuring a picture of one board member was slapped on a roundabout near his home.
Wanted posters featuring photographs of the leadership team have been posted outside Celtic Park alongside banners demanding they quit.
Supporters have held displays and led chants calling for their removal during games.
And last month’s AGM was wrapped up shortly after it started when fans brandished red cards at board members.
The Green Brigade ultras group has been issued an indefinite ban due to “safety incidents” — including a “disturbance” which left a steward injured during a home match against Falkirk in October.
