The 2025 CUC Primary Football League and Girls’ Primary Football League Champions Cup and Consolation Cup semi-finals set the stage for a highly anticipated finals day on 6 Dec.
Girls’ Primary Football League showdowns
In the Girls’ Primary Football League Consolation Cup, Cayman International School (CIS) Blue secured their spot in the final with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Marie Martin Primary School.
They will now face Cayman Prep and High School GB, who received a bye into the final as a result of their league standing.
The Girls’ Primary Football League Champions Cup saw Cayman Prep GA book their place in the final by holding onto an early goal to defeat Sir John A. Cumber Primary School 1-0.
The second semi-final was a nail-biter between Joanna Clarke Primary School and the 2024 runners-up, NorthEast Schools.
After a goalless full time and overtime, NorthEast Schools ultimately prevailed 3-2 in a tense penalty shootout.
NorthEast Schools will meet Cayman Prep GA in the final, while Sir John A. Cumber and Joanna Clarke Primary will compete for third place.
Primary Football League action
In the under-9 Consolation Cup, Joanna Clarke edged past Sir John A. Cumber Primary 1-0, and Island Primary 9B overcame Marie Martin Primary with a decisive 4-0 win.
The under-9 Consolation Cup final will feature Joanna Clarke Primary and Island Primary 9B.
In the under-9 Champions Cup, it’s set to be an all-private school final on 13 Dec. as Island Primary 9A earned their spot by defeating Prospect Primary 3-1, while Cayman Prep 9A defeated St. Ignatius Catholic School with a 3-0 victory.
Island Primary 9A and Cayman Prep 9A will contest the final, with Prospect Primary School and St. Ignatius Catholic battling for third place.
In the under-11 Consolation Cup, Cayman Brac made history by reaching their first under- 11 cup final after coming from behind to defeat Cayman Prep 11B 2-1.
In the other matchup, Red Bay Primary School clinched their final spot with a dramatic last-minute strike to beat Joanna Clarke Primary 2-1. Cayman Brac and Red Bay Primary will now face off in the final.
The under-11 Champions Cup semi-finals, Marie Martin Primary overcame Island Primary with a narrow 1-0 while Cayman Prep 11A were pushed to the limit by the St. Ignatius Catholic side, eventually winning 2-1 in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw through full time and overtime.
The final will see eight-time defending undefeated champions Cayman Prep 11A defend their title against the undefeated Marie Martin Primary, the 2024 under-11 Consolation Cup champions. Island Primary and St. Ignatius Catholic will play for third place.
The 2025 CUC PFL/GPFL finals and third-place games, along with the trophy presentations, are scheduled for this Saturday, 13 Dec., with all games to be played at the Annex Field.
