FOR THE SECOND year running, Denella Creese has copped the Island Sipz/ SVG Community College’s Invitational Netball Tournament’s top award, albeit for two different outfits.
In 2024, Creese was the MVP, playing for Associates Combined. She repeated that feat last Friday, December 7, 2025, as a player for the new champions- City Auto Parts Northern Girls.
Also mirroring 2024, Creese was again adjudged the best defender, and added her team’s MVP this time around to her trophy cabinet. She also was the MVP of semi-final two.
The multi-talented Creese represented the West Indies Under-19 team in the International Cricket Council’s 20/20 World Cup earlier this year in Malaysia. Apart from Creese, the other standouts in the 2025 Community College’s Netball Tournament were Nikyla Tannis who scored the most goals and had the best shooting average.
Dalonya Questelles secured the award as the best mid-court player.
Also recognized at Friday’s awards were the MVPs for each team.
Copping the award for DTE Alphas was Kamani Thompson; DASGS Belles’ recipient was Zoenese Browne; for DTVE Netters it was Nissi Joseph; and for Associates Combined, De Andrea Barbour.
For DNE Shooters, Lavern Michael got the nod; for DASGS Elites, Tahalia James; and DTVE Stars, Cherese Williams.
The teams’ most Improved players were Terese Glasgow- DTE Alphas; Jerrisha John- DASGS Belles; Keondra Smith- DTVE Netters; Kaydee Chanband- Associates Combined; Keishell Robertson -DNE Shooters; while Lazaro Lynch took the award for DSAGS Elites.
Completing the lot were Tyrika Delpesche – DTVE Stars; and Orico Matthews- Northern Girls.
Cherese Williams was the MVP of semi-final one and the finals; and Lazaro Lynch, for the third place play- off.
