AUCHINLECK TALBOT caused a stir by signing Ally McCoist’s son after drawing Celtic in the Scottish Cup.
But the Rangers legend has revealed why his son will NOT be lining up against the Hoops this weekend.

West of Scotland League outfit Talbot landed the dream tie when the fourth round was drawn at the end of December.
The hotly anticipated clash against Celtic comes around this weekend when the teams finally go head-to-head.
But the build-up to the Scottish Cup tie hasn’t been without its controversy.
The tie will NOT be played at Auchinleck’s Beechwood Park home.

Instead, it’s been moved to Rugby Park in Kilmarnock.
Last month, Talbot revealed they’d “taken the difficult and extremely disappointing decision” to move the game after advice from the SFA and Police Scotland.
SunSport told how many fuming Auchinleck fans were boycotting the game due to the relocation.
Another quirk in the build-up was Auchinleck’s signing of a certain striker by the name of ‘McCoist.’
No, no that one.
Instead, they snapped up Argyll McCoist, the SON of Rangers legend Ally.
The striker joined Talbot on loan from league rivals Drumchapel United.
However, his dad Ally has revealed why Argyll will NOT be facing Celtic this Sunday.
McCoist Sr and co-host Jeff Stelling were discussing this week’s upcoming cup action when Stelling asked McCoist if Argyll would be facing Martin O’Neill‘s side in Ayrshire this weekend.
On talkSPORT Breakfast, Ally replied: “Cup tied. I think he’s cup tied.
“Although, what I’m going to do is, I’m going to get Eddie Howe to give him a call on the Semenyo situation just to see if he can play!
“No, but I think he’s cup tied. He’s gone down to Auchinleck. I’ve been down a couple of times.
“They’ve got a massive, massive game at the weekend.”
McCoist’s Antoine Semenyo reference is in relation to Manchester City‘s new signing being able to play in tonight’s EFL Cup semi-final despite already featuring in the competition for Bournemouth.
With regards to Argyll, Ally’s assertion is indeed correct.
While Drumchapel didn’t compete in the Scottish Cup, McCoist was also out on loan during the first half of the campaign.
He spent the opening months of the season at Benburb, who enjoyed a run all the way to the third round.
McCoist started Benburb’s second preliminary round clash against Easthouses Lily.
And despite not featuring again during the club’s superb run, that appearance means he will indeed be ineligible to face Celtic this weekend.
