WAYNE ROONEY has revealed how he ended up watching his son Kai’s first Old Trafford game in his PYJAMAS.
The Manchester United and England hero suffered a horrendous wardrobe malfunction as he returned to his old stomping ground to witness Kai’s debut at the 74,000-plus capacity stadium.
Proud parents Wayne and Coleen took to the stands as United booked a place in the last 16 of the FA Youth Cup.
They were sat alongside interim boss Michael Carrick and temporary assistant Steve Holland.
Kai – playing two years above his age group – was introduced for an extra-time cameo to get his first taste of the iconic ground.
He was serenaded with the familiar “Rooney, Rooney” chant that used to ring around the Theatre of Dreams years ago by the fans in attendance for the showdown with Derby.

Wayne, 40, was mobbed by fans pre-match as his attempts to slip under the radar unsurprisingly failed.
And now after revealing his major fail in his outfit choice, he will be glad at least that didn’t get noticed.
Speaking via The Wayne Rooney Show on BBC, he said: “I was at home and went into my wardrobe and picked a tracksuit out.
“I thought it was one of them oversized tracksuits.

“I tried it on and thought ‘that is actually quite comfortable’.
“I put a big coat over it and went to the game. If it was a first-team game I would have been dressed a bit smarter.
“It was only when I got home, Coleen asked to look at the label on it and it was actually a pair of pyjamas.
